Email Notifications Architecture

May. 01: One of our largest updates to the Clearmix PlatformTM core comes in form of our newly created Email Notifications Architecture. With our new architecture in place, your community members will now receive updates when certain key activities occur.

For example, users will now receive updates when their account has been confirmed, they have added a video to a catalog/application, their video has received a comment, their video has been rated, or they receive a comment on their profile.

Part of this architecture includes customizing the format of these emails, the template, when they are sent out (eg. a profile comment could be sent out immediately, or be delayed 20 minutes), as well as loading in dynamic data such as the notification recipient's display picture, first name, last name, email, registration date, or username.

Additionally, for security and optimization purposes, the outgoing SMTP email server can be customized to go through your internal mail server. We've added this option for client's who would prefer to keep a local copy on their servers of all outgoing emails to their community/members.

Furthermore, each of these notifications can be activated/deactived, and set to customizable, which then gives the members an option as to whether or not they want to receive an email notification for that particular event.

Emails are sent out once per minute, and are error redundant, meaning that if the recipient's email server cannot be reached, it will try again at a later time. This architecture is key to growing a strong community as it develops a community feedback mechanism which will keep your members engaged of activity.
