Image Resampling Sizes
May. 15: We've updated our image resampling system, as well as our image storage system, to now store up to 15 different image sizes of each and every image processed by our system. These include, but are not limited to, uploaded video thumbnails, uploaded images, uploaded audio thumbnails, images saved from our Google Images or Yahoo! Images API integration, and link sharing logos/icons.
This upgrade in sizes is retroactive, meaning we developed and ran an application that went back, and added the storage sizes for images that were previously processed by our system.
Our system stores 4 different types of image re-samplings: the original image, an image which is cropped to be a square (marked with an s), an image which has a minimum width specified (marked with an m), and an image which has a maximum dimension specified.
These image sizes are: 50, 50s, 50x, 75, 75s, 75x, 100, 100s, 100x, 150, 200, 250, 500, 600, o.
This larger set of image re-samplings gives your community a greater degree of flexibility in how the user interface and user experience flows. We will continue along this path of increasing data formats soon, with your video and audio data sets.
