What we mean by 'Transparency'.
When we say that Transparency is a philosophical tenet of ours, we mean that at any point in time, we want you to know what's going on with us. You're spending your time and resources with us, and we strongly believe that you should be aware of what's keeping us busy.
We mean this within the scope of what our next release will include, what upgrades you can expect, how long a specific feature request will take, and more. This may seem obvious and incidental of working closely with clients, but something we've noticed in our experience in the industry is that transparency is rare.
Example of what we don't want.
Many of the 12 people working here at Clearmix have been working in the web development industry for a long time, and a perfect example of something we are against is the idea of price fixing.
Often at a web development firm, a request will come in for a set of features or applications. Often, the first thing a client representative will do is go to a file that contains research on competitors, determine what the average cost for such a request would be, and undercut it by a small percentage.
The problem with this technique is that is doesn't speak to the actual cost of development. The project may only take 60-80 hours worth of work, but they will be quoting the client 200-300 hours because the industry has deemed it average. This levels the of trust between the two parties, and leaves the client in a exploited position.
How we follow through.
We follow through with our belief in Transparency by developing a strong relationship between yourself and your Client Care Representative. Trust can only be earned with time, and we strongly believe that the efforts and work put forward between your representative and yourself will in time provide proof of the level of transparency you deserve.
We'll explain how long every thing takes, why it takes so long or little, and will follow up with you at every corner to make sure your expectations are met.
